24 Nov When Meta blocks your professional ads, because you decided to protect your privacy
Has this happened to you already? You have advertising campaigns running on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and suddenly you are not allowed to publish ads because you decided to pay Meta to avoid advertising and data sharing on your personal profile?
That’s a problem! And it happens because you have linked your personal profile with the business profiles.
But what if you want to protect yourself, and also have a company to manage?
We explain how you can solve it, to start publishing ads for your business again, while keeping your private data safe.
Instagram Business Account
To start, you need to have an Instagram Business account, private accounts are not suitable for creating ads and disconnecting them from your private user.
Meta Business Manager
The next step is to make sure that you have all your channels in your Meta Business Manager, to ensure that it is the COMPANY, not individuals, who own your Facebook page, Instagram account, Ads account, Pixels, etc.
You access Meta Business Manager or the Business Settings through Meta Business Suite, but we leave you a shortcut here:
https://business.facebook.com/settings/
Account Center
Once you have gathered the business assets under the same Meta Business Manager, you have to unlink your personal account from the company accounts in the Accounts Center. This can only be done directly in the Instagram APP, if it is an Instagram account. Access the menu of your PERSONAL account, look for settings and security, and Account Center.
This is a control space for accounts where you can access, log in, and cross-share between accounts. You need to detach the connection between your personal account and the company’s accounts to free it from your data and advertising restrictions.
Do you want to protect your private Facebook and Instagram data and pay to avoid advertising?
In the end, you will have to log in again from Facebook, to the company account, to make the decision again: do you want to use Facebook for free, or pay to protect your data and avoid advertising?
Complicated? – yes. Feasible? – yes, also. There’s no other way, so here we’ve left you the clues so you can keep functioning, as long as Meta has such a powerful advertising platform, of course, we are interested!
And if you need help, we are here to help you out!
